Prototyping + Feedback

Day 3

Objective:

This activity aims to transform conceptual ideas into tangible prototypes using low-fidelity materials, focusing on creating a site model of the chosen location and integrating the design intervention. Additionally, students will engage in a feedback session to refine their prototypes based on peer input.

Materials:

  • Low-fidelity materials (e.g., cardboard, paper, glue, scissors)
  • Sketching materials (e.g., pencils, markers)
  • Reference images or maps of the chosen location

Activity Steps:

1. Prototype Development (40-45 min)

  • Referencing the concept statement, create prototypes of the design intervention.
  • Pay attention to scale, proportion, and detail when crafting the site model and design elements.

2. Small Group Feedback Session (15-20 min)

  • Join another group to present your concept and prototype.
  • Explain your design choices and listen actively to feedback from peers.
  • Take notes on strengths and areas for improvement identified during the session.

3. Feedback Analysis (10-15 min)

  • Return to your partner and discuss the feedback received.
  • Determine which suggestions to incorporate into your prototype and how to refine the concept based on peer input.
