Prompt
This activity aims to guide students through a reflective journey where they explore their personal memories associated with specific locations on campus. By mapping these memories and reflecting on their influence, students deepen their self-awareness and understanding of how experiences shape identity and values.
Materials:
Printed map of the campus
Sketching materials (pencil, pen)
Writing materials (notebook, paper)
Instructions
Step 1:
Plan Your Route (5-10 minutes): Using a printed map of your campus, take a moment to study this map and decide where you want to walk. Choose the places on campus that hold special memories for you.
Step 2:
Memory Walk (30 minutes): Head out on your memory walk, following the route you planned. When you reach a spot with a meaningful memory, take a moment and mark it on your map. Sketch and write about this memory.
Step 3:
Identity Reflection (15-20 minutes): Come back to your classroom and write next to each marked spot on your map how you think those memories have influenced your identity and values.
Deliverables:
- A marked map indicating the route taken during the memory walk and the locations where memories were recorded.
- Sketches and written descriptions of each meaningful memory, placed next to their corresponding locations on the map.
- Reflections on how these memories have influenced personal identity and values, written next to each memory on the map.
